Our Mission
Our mission is to restore the prodigals, to heal the brokenhearted, to reach the unreached, to train and equip believers for the work of the ministry, and to send laborers into the harvest.

Our vision is to impact Ankeny, the Des Moines Metro, Central Iowa, this region of the country, and the nations of the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Who We Are
The family of Word of Victory is made up of precious people from several church & non-
church backgrounds. When you visit for the first time, you'll sense the warm, loving, family
environment. You will also quickly discover a wide range of ages, ethnic backgrounds, and
experiences all represented in our family. You'll feel comfortable no matter how you dress.
We're pretty casual, but we still have a few that enjoy dressing up for Sunday morning. In
summary, you'll enjoy meeting a bunch of real people who will be glad you came and who
all came once for the first time themselves and decided to stay!

What We Believe
We believe that in a world where some are trying to deny God's existence, while others claim He has no relevance for their lives, and even others doubt the ability to know and experience Him, that He not only exists, but that He desires for people to know Him,
experience His love and goodness, and that really life has no meaning without Him. We believe that in a world where many hold to the notion that there is no absolute truths, that God's absolutes have not changed. Even God says, “I am the Lord and I change not.”(Malachi 3:6) Jesus Himself said, “Heaven and earth may pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Luke 21:33) Therefore, His written Word contains the prescription for both what we believe and how to live. |
We believe that in a world where much of the church has lost its relevance by changing from God's original plan, that we are still called to reach a lost and dying world with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that in a world where people are often busy, yet very disconnected to God and to each other, that the church still has the answer for people to reconnect with God and with each other. We invite you to “Come home to family, come home to God” We believe that in a world filled with much confusion, loneliness, pain & suffering, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, and He still is ready, willing and able to meet people at the point of their need and bring healing and restoration to every part of their lives. |
Missions and Outreach
In Acts 4:18 the early disciples were told that they could not speak or teach at all in the Name of Jesus. In verse 20 they responded, “For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
What we have received in Jesus is far too good to keep to ourselves. Besides, Jesus commissioned us to go into the whole world to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). In light of this, evangelism, outreach and missions are a priority at Word of Victory. |
We
encourage every believer to be active in sharing their faith with
others. We also plan special times of outreach into the community, such
as evangelistic concerts, nursing home ministry, serving the homeless
and more. Jesus commissioned the disciples to go to Jerusalem, Judea,
Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the earth.
For us, world missions is not optional. We financially support a number of missionaries on a monthly basis. We also occasionally support a special crusade or project. Finally, we provide opportunities for our own members to experience the mission field through short term mission trips. |
Future Plans
We know that the vision God has given us at Word of Victory requires that we continue to grow and expand as the Lord leads. We plan to maximize the use of our current facilities, add a second weekend service, and then build to expand our sanctuary and classroom space.
We plan to continue to expand our discipleship and outreach programs and to offer Bible School classes for those interested in personal restoration, a foundation in the Word of God or preparation for ministry.
