Ministries of Word of Victory
Connect Groups
It seems to be common for many people who attend a church to not connect with other
people in meaningful relationships. This is especially true as a church grows. However, we
recognize the value of connecting with others, of connecting with God, and of connecting
God's Word to people's practical every day lives. This is why we have “Connect Groups”.
These groups, though designed to be small in number, are vital for continued spiritual
growth and development in the life of a Christian. We encourage all believers to engage in
a connect group.
Men's Ministry
We desire to minister to the unique needs of men in order that each one can fulfill His God given destiny. Men's Breakfasts, camp-outs, retreats, and other activities help facilitate this ministry.
Women's Ministry
Women are valuable! Our heart is for women to have the opportunity to connect with one another through our “Girls Get Together” events (w/a variety of fun, worship & the Word) & through a weekly “Connect Group” (Bible Study). There are also regional women's events we attend. Whether you are a mother, daughter or grandmother, you can find a place to flourish in our women's ministry. We desire for women to be enriched, for relationships to flourish, & for each one to be encouraged in their God given destiny!
“In-Pursuit” Youth Ministry
“In-Pursuit of a Generation: A Generation in pursuit of God” captures the heart of our Youth ministry. Psalm 24:6 speaks of a “generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face, O God of Jacob”. We believe that this young generation has the potential to radically know God and make Him known to the world. Out teens are a top priority here at Word of Victory. They actually have their own facility called “Re-Generation House” Youth Center, a teen hang-out equipped with pool, foosball and air hockey tables; with video, light & sound; and with kitchen and live stage areas.
The teens meet on Wednesday evening for worship, Bible study, prayer and drama practice.
Saturdays often bring opportunities to hang out at “Re-Generation House” or some outing event such a laser tag, bowling, ice skating and more. The teens also have opportunities to go on mission trips and enjoy the annual “Acquire the Fire” in Des Moines, a gathering of teens from all over the region with dynamic speakers, activities & concerts which fuel their fire for the Lord.
“In-Formation” Children's Ministry
Children are so precious in the Lord's sight. They are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today. Through our children's programs, we believe not only in the importance of them learning biblical “information”, but for Christ to be “formed” in their lives (Gal.4:19). Loving, gifted & qualified teachers provide Children's ministry at each service using music, Bible lessons, skits, crafts, videos, puppets, snacks & more. Sunday mornings include Sunday School & Sunday Kidz Church, while on Wednesdays the children join the KTCC (Kidz That Care Club). The Christmas and Easter programs are a great way for the kids to show off their talents and impress Grandma & Grandpa.
“In-Cubation” Nursery Ministry
Just like little chicks in an incubator, our tiniest ones need nurture and care and the warmth of God's love to help them begin their life-long journey as God's little children.
Mobile KIDZ Club
Reaching out beyond the four walls of the church is certainly part of the Great Commission. Since the summer of 2010 we have been reaching into Des Moines through Mobile Kidz Club. Although the ministry is geared toward children, we have been able to impact many teens and adults as well, with the gospel through music, games, puppets, Bible lessons, food & prizes. Many children, teens & several adults have received Christ as the Lord of their lives. We often distribute groceries and seek to meet other practical needs in the community. We have provided transportation from these areas to our services on Wednesdays and Sundays. Recently we received a truck complete with fold-out stage and sound system, which will enable us to be more mobile and expand the number of ministry sights. If you have a heart to make a difference in lives this is a great ministry to get involved in.
The King's Pantry
In Matthew 25 Jesus instructs us about feeding the hungry. We have a food ministry called The King's Pantry. Through donations of non-perishable food and personal items, we have been able to provide help to individuals and families in need. We have also been distributing groceries through our Mobile Kidz Club Outreach.
